Dr. Memsic came into my life after I was given the one-two punch of “we found a dense mass on your breast,” and “it must be biopsied.” Walking into her office for the first time she made me feel like I was her only patient. When my results came back she laid out my treatment in a clear, concise manner. She is an incredible surgeon who treated me honestly, professionally, and with a great sense of humor that made all of the indignities of breast cancer a little bit easier to bear.
I can depend on Dr. Memsic. She has been with me every step of the way, more like a sister than a doctor. Leslie Memsic is a tireless breast cancer warrior. She has dedicated her life to her patients and really believes her own mantra “I hope to someday put myself out of business.”
“I have suffered from a tumor in my thumb for what seems to be my entire life. Dr. Memsic expertly removed it and greatly alleviated my pain. She had incredible bedside manner, was warm and welcoming, and made me feel confident in her abilities through the entire process. Her work truly changed my life!”
“I owe Dr. Memsic my life; Not figuratively, but literally.
I lost my mother at 43 to breast cancer and then developed the same cystic disease. I have lived in fear for the last five years as the cysts got progressively worse, to the point they took up the majority of my breast tissue. I spent more time at the radiologist than any person should. I was constantly checking on a new cysts via mammogram and ultrasound. After being rejected from two other doctors, because I did not have the BRCA gene nor any cancerous cells, I was given Dr. Memsic’s name and tried again.
A month later I was in surgery with a prophylactic double mastectomy with reconstruction.
During my follow up visit with her she had the pathology reports and handed me astounding news. It turns out there were pre-cancer cells in my breasts that would have turned at some point in my life to breast cancer. She gave me a hearty hug and told me I 1000% did the right thing. I have her to thank for ridding me of my fears and potential cancer. Aside from the expertise she provided me in surgery and the warm visits in the hospital, she has always treated me like a person first and patient second. I have and will continue to refer her to anyone in need as an amazing human and unbelievably skilled doctor who will do what’s right for you.
With complete sincerity,”
